SERVICE / EVANGELISM

“What I love about serving others is not only the real difference it makes in someone’s life but the impact it has on me when I stretch outside of my comfort zone. God uses that in a special way.”  - Virginie, attending for 6 years

The purpose of the Service and Evangelism & Missions Ministries at Covenant

is to contribute to the intentional sharing of the Gospel, both locally and globally.

Evangelism & Service are part of missions, and it starts right here in our backyard.  It means caring for others’ needs in a holistic way. It starts at home and grows outward towards relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers -- from across the street to across the globe.

FEED THE HUNGER

Saturday, April 5

With your help we will be packing 25,000 meals for hungry children across the globe; volunteers and financial support is needed to make this a success.

Our goal is to pack 105 boxes containing 240 meals each.  Families are encouraged to come and pack together for 2 hours - 9:30-11:30 or 12:30-2:30.  There are jobs for everyone ages 5-105!  Invite your neighbors, friends, extended family, co-workers, and community members to participate.  The work will be fun and we'll learn about the children we are aiding while we pack!

The bagged meals contain rice/pasta, dehydrated vegetables, soy/dried pinto beans, and vitamin powder - giving children the nutrition they need to thrive.  Each meal costs just 35 cents.  Each box of 240 meals costs just $84 and will feed a hungry child for an entire school year.

There is a nominal cost to participate, which goes directly towards the cost of the food we are packing, and for Bibles distributed to the meal recipients.  The cost is $20 per adult and $5 per child 18 and under, and can be paid in advance at church or upon entry the day of the Packathon.  Each meal costs 37 cents, so your $20 pays for 54 meals!
